France will strengthen its military support for Ukraine, and a new aid package is being prepared.
This information was voiced by French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna in an interview with the Ukrainian division of the French radio station RFI.
What help did the minister promise?
The head of French diplomacy said that the support provided by France is aimed at ensuring, in cooperation with allies and partners, to meet the needs expressed by the Ukrainian authorities and help it defend itself.
Particular attention, the minister noted, is focused on air defense and artillery.
This support will be continued and strengthened. New supplies of military aid are being prepared – Colonna stated in an interview.
The head of the French Foreign Ministry did not specify what kind of weapon we are talking about.
The minister noted that France will strengthen Ukraine’s potential in the long term and that this is why French President Emmanuel Macron proposed training military pilots for Ukraine.
Speaking about the upcoming summit of the North Atlantic Alliance, Colonna said that France and its partners are working to identify security guarantees that could be provided to Ukraine not instead of, but in parallel with the process of integration into NATO.
According to the minister, the Vilnius summit will fill the prospect of Ukraine joining NATO with concrete content.
- We want the Vilnius summit to provide an opportunity to consolidate NATO support for Ukraine on a long-term basis, – said the head of the French diplomatic service.
