France will transfer Mirage 2000-5 fighters to Ukraine, and will also train 4,500 Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers.

This statement was made by the head of the French state, Emmanuel Macron, during an interview with BFMTV.

Tomorrow we will begin a new cooperation and announce the transfer of Mirage 2000-5 aircraft, – President of MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

In addition, Macron promised to organize a training program for Ukrainian pilots by the end of the year.

Initially, the TV channel reported the transfer of five new fighters to Kyiv, but then edited the publication.

The latest version indicates that the French leader did not name the exact number of combat aircraft planned to be sent to Ukraine.

When asked whether the Ukrainian Armed Forces would be able to carry out attacks on Russian regions with French weapons, Macron replied that they would not be used to attack civilians.

I also noted that by the end of the year it is planned to organize a training program for Ukrainian pilots. In total they want to train 4,500 people.

Talking about these plans of Paris, Macron said that they cannot be considered an “escalation factor.”

Earlier, Stoltenberg announced whether NATO would send its troops to Ukraine.
