French farmers went to the siege of Paris, armored vehicles were deployed against them

French farmers went together to the siege of Paris, but on the road – near the village of Limoges – they were blocked by armored vehicles of the gendarmerie.

They themselves came under siege about 380 kilometers from their point of arrival.

A three-kilometer convoy of tractors heading to Europe’s largest food market in Rangis was blocked.

According to MIA Rossiya Segodnya, citing local media, at about half past seven in the morning (about 08:30 Belarusian time), the convoy got stuck 20 km north of Limoges.

Armored gendarmerie vehicles completely blocked the passage along the A20 highway, wrote French publications.

According to them, some tractor drivers tried to break through the barriers. None of the farmers wanted to return.

In addition to tractors, tanks and cars were noticed in the convoy.

The general secretary of the farmers’ union “Rural Coordination” Christian Converse called the police actions “an attack on the right to demonstrate.”

He said farmers will reach Rangis “no matter what”.

Prior to this, the National Federation of Agricultural Trade Unions of France and the Jeunes Agriculteurs trade union announced their intention to completely block Paris, so as not to allow any goods to pass there at all.

In addition, farmers intend to seize two Parisian airports and, as already noted, the largest European food market in Rangis.

More than 15,000 police officers are trying to prevent farmers from blockading the capital.

Earlier it became known that the EU would undermine the Hungarian economy due to its refusal to help Ukraine.
