French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejournet said that the country will not send troops to Ukraine.

The head of the French Foreign Ministry made this statement on the air of France Inter radio station.

What Sejournet said about sending troops to Ukraine

One of the France Inter radio listeners asked the minister whether French President Emmanuel Macron remembers that the French elected him and not Vladimir Zelensky as head of state, and added that the French do not want to send their children to die for Ukraine.

Answering the question, the head of the French Foreign Ministry assured that the French will not die for Ukraine.

According to Sejournet, France will not send troops to fight in Ukraine because certain limits have been set: to prevent Russia from winning without fighting it.

And within this framework, nothing is ruled out, as the president said, – explained the head of the French Foreign Ministry.

He added that the efforts of the French authorities are aimed at avoiding war, and not at adding anxiety to its citizens.

On February 26, Western leaders held a conference on Ukraine in Paris. Following the event, Macron said that sending ground troops to Ukraine was discussed.

According to the French President, there is no consensus on this issue, but such a scenario cannot be ruled out in the future.

The French leader also said that France will do everything to prevent Russia from winning.

The next day, representatives of most of the countries participating in the conference announced that they did not intend to send troops to Ukraine.

Politico noted that Macron’s statement was supposed to sound like a warning to Russia, but in fact it showed all the splits and cracks in the West.

Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, commenting on Macron’s statement, warned that sending Western troops to Ukraine would lead to a direct clash between NATO and Russia.

Earlier, Argentine President Javier Miley wants to hold a summit in support of Ukraine.
