From necrosis to death. Japan records record rise in cases of hemolytic streptococcus infection

62views

Doctors, experts and Japanese authorities are sounding the alarm: the country is recording a record increase in the number of cases of infection with a deadly infection.

We are talking about hemolytic streptococcus, which can cause necrosis and be fatal.

The TASS agency reported this with reference to the NHK TV channel.

It is reported: according to the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, from the beginning of this year until May 5, 801 cases of infection were registered in Japan.

The figure is 2.76 times higher than that recorded for the same period last year.

And for the entire 2023, in the Land of the Rising Sun, doctors detected infections with hemolytic streptococcus in 941 people.

So far, experts cannot give an exact answer as to what is causing the sharp increase in the number of cases of infection with this infection.

However, they draw attention to the fact that after the easing of restrictive measures introduced during the coronavirus pandemic, the number of cases of pharyngitis has increased.

Doctors say that this throat disease is caused by the same type of bacteria as hemolytic streptococcus.

Due to the alarming trend, Japanese authorities urge their compatriots to strictly adhere to preventive measures, especially in terms of hand washing and wound care.

Earlier it became known that the first person with a transplanted pig kidney was 2 months after the operation.
