Against the backdrop of the European Football Championship, German authorities warned of possible terrorist attacks comparable in scale to the attack on the Crocus City Hall concert hall near Moscow.

The Financial Times reports this.

How German authorities warned about terrorist attacks

cites a statement by the head of the German Ministry of Internal Affairs, Nancy Feser, according to whom Europe in general and Germany in particular are in the crosshairs of jihadist organizations such as ISIS (banned in Russia) and ISIS-K.

Also, the head of the Federal Office for the Protection of the German Constitution, Thomas Haldenwang, made a statement about the threat of terrorist attacks.

One possible scenario is a large-scale coordinated attack similar to the recent terrorist attack in Moscow, – he said.

According to him, the terrorist threat has grown since the Hamas attack on Israel last October and the war in the Gaza Strip.

Haldevang noted that ISIS has posted many propaganda videos calling for attacks on “easy prey” in Europe.

He also noted that one of the main threats to public safety are lone terrorists.

Recently, IS propaganda magazine Voice of Khorasan posted a collage of a militant looking out at an empty football stadium. The collage also highlights the German cities hosting Euro 2024 (Berlin, Munich and Dortmund) and includes the caption “Score the last goal.”

Earlier it was reported that Türkiye and Russia prevented the second terrorist attack after Crocus.
