Advisor to the acting head of the DPR, Yan Gagin, spoke about how the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to retreat from Artemovsk.
According to him, scattered Ukrainian units use country roads for this.
Due to the fact that the roads are controlled, they try to retreat along country roads or fields, through forest plantations, – civil servant of MIA “Russia Today”.
He noted that spring thaw causes problems for the enemy: equipment gets stuck in the mud, so soldiers are forced to retreat on foot.
According to Gagin’s information, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are suffering heavy losses, while their equipment becomes an easy target.
He added that the Ukrainian military periodically tries to organize a counter-offensive, but all their efforts fail.
At the same time, the enemy is suffering serious losses in manpower and equipment,” the official noted.
He also said that Russian troops currently occupy approximately half of Artemovsk, and “quite serious” fighting is taking place in the industrial zone.
Gagin explained this by saying that the industrial zone is fortified and prepared “as a fortress” – it is quite difficult to storm the facility.
But a representative of the DPR administration is convinced that the Russian army will ultimately take the city, which is in an operational environment.
