Gas prices fell in Europe after Gazprom’s announcement

0views

Alexey Miller, a representative of the Russian energy company Gazprom, announced the imminent start of pumping gas into European storage facilities.

The chairman of the board of the corporation noted the insignificant volume of blue fuel in German and Austrian underground gas storage facilities.

It is expected that the gas supply process will begin after November 8.

It was by this period that underground storage facilities in the Russian Federation should have been filled with fuel.

Miller made the corresponding statement during an event with the participation of Russian leader Vladimir Putin, news agencies report.

It is noted that after the statement by Gazprom representatives, gas prices fell in Europe.

According to data as of Wednesday, October 28, one thousand cubic meters of blue fuel became cheaper by 3 percent (from $1,045 to $1,015).

On the morning of October 28, the price of gas dropped even more significantly – to $950.

Gas crisis in Europe

The rise in gas prices in Europe began in the summer of this year.

In October, the cost of blue fuel reached record levels, approaching 2 thousand dollars per thousand cubic meters.

This situation arose for several reasons. Firstly, gas reserves in European countries have been depleted. Secondly, there were problems with the supply of resources from the Russian Federation.
