President of the Federal Network Agency (BNA) Klaus Müller named the gas figure sad for Germany.
According to him, if supplies of blue fuel from Russia stop completely, the country’s existing reserves will only last for 2.5 months.
The specialist told his interlocutor from Bloomberg about this, MIA Rossiya Segodnya.
According to Müller, Berlin is currently actively accumulating gas reserves in preparation for the difficult winter ahead.
According to his calculations, German storage facilities should be 85% full by October, in case the autumn is extremely cold.
However, the BNA chief added, the task seems as difficult to achieve as filling storage facilities to 95% by November.
Even if we achieve the goal of filling Germany’s gas storage facilities by 95% by November, these reserves will still be enough for approximately 2-2.5 months of heating and industrial facilities in the event that supplies from Russia completely stop,” Müller noted.
At the same time, he does not rule out that even with stable supplies it will not be possible to fill the storage facilities.
The most optimistic scenario, according to his forecast, is that only ¾ of the storage facilities are filled with the required volume.
