Gazprom began supplying fuel to Hungary in excess of established contracts

0views

Russian gas supplies to Hungary began to exceed the figures specified in the contracts.

It became known that the energy company Gazprom is supplying additional volumes of fuel to the Central European country.

It is expected that every day until the end of this month, an additional 2.6 million cubic meters of natural gas will flow into Hungary via the Turkish Stream gas pipeline.

It is possible that a similar schedule will be extended for the first month of autumn.

A corresponding statement was made by the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Tamas Menczer.

What are the reasons for additional supplies of Russian gas to Hungary?

According to a statement by a representative of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, the country’s government has decided to purchase another 700 million cubic meters of fuel.

As Mentzer noted, it is possible to make reserves of such a volume of natural gas only if it is purchased from Russia.

The Hungarian Foreign Ministry emphasized that previously the country could only afford to fill gas storage facilities to a third.

Especially considering that the European average is below 20%, – MIA quotes Tamás Menczer.

However, the plans of the Hungarian side have changed due to the difficult situation observed in the European energy sector.
