Germany has stopped certification of Nord Stream 2

31views

Germany has temporarily stopped the certification process for the Swiss company Nord Stream 2 AG.

This organization is registered as an independent transport network operator. In particular, it is the operator of the Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream 2.

The decision to suspend certification was made by the German Federal Network Agency.

According to information released by the regulator, the process will be resumed after the named company brings the documents necessary for registration into compliance with German legislation.

The bottom line is that the Swiss Nord Stream 2 AG, in order to fulfill its mission, refused to transform a legal entity registered in its homeland (Zug).

To operate the gas pipeline in Germany, it chose to create a subsidiary company.

This company must meet the energy law requirements for an independent operator.

If the subsidiary fulfills the necessary requirements, the Federal Network Agency will be able to continue certification, draw up a draft decision and send it to the European Commission.
