What did the German government representative say?

Heberstreit did not specify from whom exactly the request to export Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine came.

I can confirm that one permit was issued, I cannot provide other information, – said the official.

Leopard 1 tanks are not used by the Bundeswehr. According to media reports, German defense companies can provide such tanks.

Let us recall that on January 25, Germany announced the transfer of 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine and the issuance of permission to other countries for their re-export.

According to German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, the tanks will be delivered by the end of March.

On the same day, the United States promised to transfer 31 Abrams tanks to Ukraine.

The same transfer of tanks to Ukraine was announced by Poland, France, Great Britain, Norway, Slovakia and some other countries.

As the first batch, the Ukrainian authorities expect to receive 140 tanks from 12 countries.
