Germany said the budget has run out of money to support the population

The German government said that the state has no funds left to support the population.

This statement was made by the German government commissioner for eastern affairs, Carsten Schneider, in an interview with the German television channel ARD.

Why is there no money to support the population in Germany?

As Schneider said, the German government spent 800 billion euros to help citizens during the coronavirus pandemic and provide subsidies to compensate for rising prices for electricity and gas.

Therefore, according to a representative of the German government, the country does not have funds for further support.

To be honest about the financial situation, we have no money left, – the official said in an interview.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in early December called the formation of the budget for 2024 a very difficult task.

At the same time, the head of the German government assured that there would be no reduction in social guarantees.

According to a YouGov poll published in December, 74% of Germans think Scholz is doing a poor job.

Earlier it was reported that French farmers were under siege of Paris.
