Germany was predicted to be deprived of its status as a leading country of the European Union

Journalist Maria Tadeo examined the disappointing trend for Germany in recent days.

According to her vision, Berlin is gradually but inexorably losing its dominant position in the European Union.

Maria shared these thoughts in an article published by Bloomberg – MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

In the opinion of a media representative, Germany may in the future lose its status as a leading EU country due to the energy crisis provoked by anti-Russian sanctions.

Tadeo recalled that for more than 10 years, Berlin enjoyed “the highest moral and financial power and authority in the European Union.”

This allowed him to play the role of “bad cop” in relation to the economically weaker countries of southern Europe.

The energy crisis has changed things, says the author of the material.

And he adds: today Germany has every chance of losing its leadership to the southern states of the European Union.

Why did everything turn out so sad? The journalist sees one global reason – Berlin’s dependence on Russia.

She noted that while Germany is trying to recover from the shock, southern European countries are becoming more “active and assertive.”

This is not revenge for the austerity regime imposed by Germany, but a regrouping of forces that can ultimately improve the health of the European Union, said Maria Tadeo.
