Next year, Germany will supply Ukraine with almost 200,000 artillery shells.

This information was announced by the Inspector General of the German Armed Forces, Carsten Breuer.

What kind of assistance will Ukraine receive from Germany in 2024?

In an interview with a German publication, Breuer assured that Germany will continue to help Ukraine.

According to him, in 2024 Germany will supply Ukraine with almost 200,000 artillery shells.

Production is now increasing – noted the Inspector General of the Bundeswehr.

He added that Germany’s support for Ukraine will not be affected by who becomes the next US president.

I see the need to support Ukraine as long as it is necessary, whatever the outcome of the US elections, Breuer said.

According to the German Ministry of Defense, over the past year and a half, Ukraine has received more than 250,000 115 mm caliber shells from Germany. The total volume of German aid to Ukraine since February last year has exceeded 25 billion euros.

In November it was reported that the German government plans to increase aid to Ukraine next year from 4 to 8 billion euros.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen previously acknowledged that the European Union had failed to meet its target of producing a million shells in 2023, but assured that production would be increased to that level next year.

Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin made similar promises, saying that the United States has doubled funding for ammunition production. At the same time, according to the American TV channel ABC, since the beginning of the Israeli operation in Gaza, supplies of artillery shells to Ukraine from the United States have decreased by more than a third.

According to the Institute of World Economy, in August-October, the volume of assistance promised to Ukraine by the West decreased by 90% compared to the same period last year.
