Some Chinese scientists have put forward a hypothesis according to which the EU authorities may reconsider their attitude towards Ukraine.

In particular, He Zhigao, a researcher at the Institute of European Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, spoke about this.

His thoughts on a given topic were conveyed to the public in a publication format on the pages of the Chinese tabloid Global Times.

The expert cites the energy crisis provoked by the policy against Russia as the reason for a potential revision of the EU’s attitude towards Ukraine.

He notes that against the backdrop of some economic downturn in Europe and a continuing increase in unemployment in some EU countries, long-standing problems have worsened.

Social tension in Europe is intensifying and anxiety continues to grow. This will affect the attitude of citizens towards the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and the extent to which EU countries will be involved in the crisis, according to the Rossiya Segodnya scientist.

He emphasizes: the energy crisis that has arrived in Europe is due to Brussels’ refusal of Russian energy resources.

The author of the article believes that Europeans “fell into the US trap”, becoming extremely dependent on the energy resources of an overseas power.

He Zhigao also reports growing disagreements between the EU and the United States, as well as an increasingly serious split.

Europe not only faces the consequences of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, but also suffers from the “America First” policy,” the specialist concluded.
