Government evaluates including returnees from Lebanon in Bolsa Família and CadÚnico

59views

The federal government is considering including Brazilians repatriated from Lebanon in social programs, such as the Single Registry (CadÚnico) and Bolsa Família. The information is contained in a note released by Palácio do Planalto this Sunday (6).

“The Ministry of Social Development appointed a team of social workers for cases in which the family no longer has defined ties in Brazil. If necessary, the department acts on a shelter policy and assesses situations of vulnerability to speed up access to the Single Registry and programs such as Bolsa Família”, says the text.

The first group of repatriates from Lebanon landed at the São Paulo Air Base, in Guarulhos, this Sunday (6), at 10:25 am, with 228 repatriates and three domestic animals.

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and members of ministerial teams accompanied the arrival of passengers. The plane took off from Lebanon last Saturday (5) and made a technical stop in Portugal before continuing on to Brazil.

Reception in Brazil

The federal government sent members of the National Force of the Unified Health System (SUS) to the location to provide emergency care and update passengers’ vaccination records. The professionals were divided into teams made up of men and women who speak Portuguese, Arabic or French.

Employees from the Federal Police, the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) and the Federal Revenue Service were also designated to facilitate the immigration process.

The federal government also sent to the São Paulo Air Base a group of 35 professionals linked to the ministries of Justice and Public Security, Health, Human Rights, Foreign Relations and Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger to assist with eventual passenger needs.
