Government withdraws urgency from voting on tax reform in the Senate

PLP 68 of 2024 had been blocking the plenary agenda since September because it had not been voted on within the scheduled 45 days. This was preventing senators from voting on other bills.

Party leaders had already requested the withdrawal of the urgency, claiming that they need more time to analyze the deputies’ proposal, which establishes the Tax on Goods and Services (IBS), the Social Contribution on Goods and Services (CBS) and the Selective Tax (IS).
