Grain deal. Türkiye and the UN demanded ironclad guarantees from the West

0views

It recently became known that Ukraine intends to appeal to Turkey and the UN with a request to extend the grain deal and increase the number of its ports.

Having learned about this, Ankara and the world organization demanded ironclad guarantees from Western countries to bring agricultural products and ammonia from Russia to international markets.

This was shared with Rossiya Segodnya by a source familiar with the nuances of the negotiation process.

According to him, there are now certain obstacles in terms of logistics, insurance and payment.

“I would like to receive reinforced concrete guarantees from Western countries, and for this to be made public,” he said.

And he explained: if the West provides such guarantees to Turkey and the UN, then it is likely that the Black Sea grain initiative will function without any obstacles.

We would like to add that the grain agreement expires on March 18.

Earlier, the official representative of the Turkish President, Ibrahim Kalin, said that Ankara received guarantees from the United States for the entry of Russian agricultural products into markets.

The Turkish politician then called on Washington to publicly announce these guarantees.
