Greek authorities will pay the population for vaccination against coronavirus

11views

The Greek government has decided to popularize the mass vaccination program in an unusual way.

The country’s young population has been promised financial compensation for being vaccinated against coronavirus infection. The corresponding statement was made by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The Associated Press reports on the measures taken in Greece. It is known that the compensation will be 150 euros per person.

However, the proceeds can be used to purchase train, plane or ferry tickets.

It is possible to purchase passes to cultural institutions, rent a car or book a camping site.

The country’s authorities believe that young people will actively use this opportunity, but at the same time, the government is confident that the Greeks would have been vaccinated without financial support from outside.

The local government is currently preparing a number of relaxations of previously introduced quarantine measures.

They will only apply to those who have been vaccinated. The decision has been announced, but details have not yet been published.

The Greek authorities plan that by the end of July about 48% of the country’s population will be vaccinated.

Similar local measures were introduced in Russia.

According to media reports, AvtoVAZ employees who are vaccinated or at least receive 1 component of the vaccine will receive financial compensation before July 16.
