17views

On Tuesday, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres spoke about the nuclear threat in the world.

He says that the confrontation between various states has taken the threat of using nuclear weapons to a new level.

RIA Novosti is Guterres’s opinion that administrations around the world are advised to completely remove nuclear weapons from their arsenal.

September 26 marks the day of the International Struggle for the complete elimination of all nuclear weapons on the planet – this date was set by the UN General Assembly back in 2013.

Guterres calls the main reason for storing nuclear weapons the lack of trust between different countries and the desire for geopolitical confrontation.

For many decades, work has been carried out to prevent the creation and storage of nuclear weapons – unfortunately, today this work has come to naught.

The UN Secretary-General once again called for an end to the proliferation of nuclear weapons. All countries must sign the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty.
