Hamas agrees to US-planned truce

The radical Palestinian movement Hamas agreed to the US-proposed truce and ceasefire plan in the Gaza Strip.

The corresponding information was distributed by Al Arabiya TV channel, citing sources in the Hamas leadership.

He said that America was initiating a cessation of hostilities in the region and gradually beginning to return “displaced persons.”

Hamas representatives intend to go to Cairo in the near future to discuss the plan, TASS agency.

According to the TV channel’s interlocutor, the movement received an offer to extend the truce in the enclave in exchange for the release of some of the hostages held there.

Hamas proposes to start by releasing minors, women and elderly captive Israelis.

The movement itself has not yet commented on information about the proposed deal and, accordingly, the terms of the truce.

Earlier, the Qatari Foreign Ministry stated that Israel agreed to a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
