Palestinian fighters intend to execute one Israeli citizen held hostage for any subsequent attack by that country on civilian targets in the Gaza Strip.
A representative of the Hamas movement, Abu Obaida, made this warning on air on one of the TV channels.
He noted that the execution of Israeli hostages would follow any Israeli attack on civilians and residential buildings.
Hamas meant those attacks that Israel will not warn about.

Hamas representatives decided to act this way because the Israeli side, in their opinion, “does not understand humanitarian language.”
Palestine stated that responsibility for subsequent events would lie with the opposing side.
