The famous American media magnate Rupert Murdoch, at the age of 93, entered into a marriage with the former mother-in-law of the Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich.
The bride, molecular biologist Elena Zhukova, is 67 years old. The wedding celebrations took place at Murdoch’s vineyard in California.
RBC reported this with reference to The Sun, which, by the way, is part of the groom’s media empire.
This is already the fifth marriage for the businessman. And Zhukova, as a molecular biologist, also worked at the University of California at Los Angeles.
But at the time of entering into marriage with the billionaire, she was retired.
In general, she moved to the States after the collapse of the USSR. In the Union she worked at the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion of the country’s Ministry of Health.
She was married to a businessman from the oil industry, Alexander Zhukov.
Their daughter, Daria Zhukova, was married to Roman Abramovich (until 2017). By the way, they have two children.
Daria’s mother married the second time in the States – to biologist Georgy Gause (also an emigrant). He passed away in 1999.
As for Murdoch, in the fall he left the post of head of the board of directors of the media corporation News Corporation he created and became honorary chairman of the board.
The company is currently run by his son.
The businessman’s fortune is about $19.9 billion, which means he ranks 94th in the ranking of the richest people on the planet.
