Helicopters hijacked in Afghanistan may end up in Ukraine – Kabulov

3views

Russia fears that helicopters and planes hijacked in Afghanistan (about a hundred units) may end up in Ukraine.

We are talking about aviation equipment, on which in 2021 the Afghan military fled to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

The special representative of the Russian President for Afghanistan, director of the second department of Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zamir Kabulov told MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

He emphasized: it is extremely important for Moscow that the hijacked helicopters and planes currently located in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan do not end up in Ukraine.

According to the diplomat, fleeing Afghan military commanders and military personnel transported about hundreds of aircraft to these countries.

There are about 60 in Tajikistan and about 40-50 in Uzbekistan,” Mr. Kabulov clarified.

It is noted that Afghan Air Force pilots, along with their families, fled to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan on military planes and helicopters in August last year, immediately after the Taliban seized power in the country.

As the media wrote, citing officials in Tashkent, Uzbekistan does not intend to return helicopters and planes to Afghanistan, since they are the property of the United States.
