Hungarian Foreign Minister calls for sabotage on Nord Stream to be considered a terrorist attack

0views

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó calls on the world community to regard the undermining of Nord Stream as a terrorist act.

In his opinion, the sabotage that happened there is “scandalous.” After all, it was, in fact, the first such incident at such a large facility of “European critical infrastructure.”

The minister emphasized: the underwater gas pipeline was attacked.

In this regard, the diplomat voiced the official position of Budapest: the need to conduct a “comprehensive, in-depth, structured and detailed investigation.”

He added that regardless of who initiates such an investigation, Hungary will support all actions that will help identify those involved in sabotage.

And the platform for the investigation, in Szijjártó’s opinion, could be the UN. In addition, the organization must propose an investigation mechanism.

The UN must play a larger role here. Because the UN is a kind of last resort, where everyone is represented, where any discussion can take place, because everyone is here, – the head of the MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

He is convinced: under the auspices of the UN, “even enemies must talk to each other.”

However, at the moment, states the head of the foreign policy department, nothing like this is happening and the UN “does not play its role” in this matter.
