Hungarian Foreign Minister: the most important task is to avoid a direct conflict between Russia and NATO
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that in the current situation it is important to prevent the outbreak of a direct military conflict between Russia and the North Atlantic Alliance.
The head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry noted that such a confrontation would lead to serious consequences.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Central European country has no doubt: a potential clash will provoke a situation that will not suit either the Russian Federation or the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
“The most important task”
Szijjártó called preventing a clash between the Russian Federation and NATO “the most important task.”
The diplomat emphasized that he, like many other people, hoped for the absence of a global confrontation. However, the situation in the world has become very tense.
The direct conflict between NATO and Russia has no end, and everyone understands what this means, – MIA quotes the words of the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry.
Szijjártó stressed: there is a threat to “the existence of the planet.” In this regard, the inadmissibility of a potential conflict is being actively discussed.
According to the diplomat, such discussions take place within the framework of meetings with representatives of the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance.
