Statement by Peter Szijjarto

The Hungarian minister met with journalists in the Belgian capital.

During the conversation, the diplomat drew attention to the high risk of conflict escalation.

In such circumstances, Szijjártó saw the need to change the EU strategy regarding the Ukrainian conflict.

The Hungarian statesman is confident that it is unacceptable to allocate several more billion euros for arms supplies to Kyiv.

According to the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, he was seriously “pressured” by colleagues from other EU member countries.

Despite such pressure, Hungary will not give up its point of view, Szijjártó emphasized.

The diplomat expressed confidence in the need to restore peace on Ukrainian territory.

Previously, the head of the Hungarian government, Viktor Orban, led the EU countries.
