3views

The Hungarian authorities have proposed Budapest as a platform for any peace negotiations to resolve the situation in Ukraine with the participation of Russia.

The head of the Hungarian government, Viktor Orban, voiced this proposal in a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This was announced by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó in an interview published on May 12.

The minister noted that Hungary and Russia previously had pragmatic relations.

Since the beginning of the war, the Prime Minister had a conversation with President Putin on his initiative, – said the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry.

According to him, in this conversation Orban proposed Budapest as a platform for any peace negotiations.

Szijjarto also spoke about arms supplies to Ukraine.

The minister said that Budapest does not want the border between Hungary and Ukraine to become a place for arms supplies.

We will not send or allow the transit of weapons through Hungary, – added the head of Hungarian diplomacy.
