Hungary will not support Ukraine’s accession to the EU and providing it with budget assistance
Hungary will not support Ukraine’s accession to the European Union and changes to the community budget to increase assistance to Kyiv.
This was stated on November 30 at a briefing by the head of the office of the Prime Minister of Hungary, Gergely Gulyas.
His speech was broadcast by a Hungarian television channel.
Why Hungary will not support Ukraine’s European integration
As Guyash said, two issues are currently being discussed in Brussels: the possibility of starting negotiations on Ukraine’s admission to the European Union and amendments to the EU budget for 2024-2027, providing for the provision of 50 billion euros to Kyiv.
The Hungarian government does not support the adoption of these two measures, – said the head of the office of the Hungarian Prime Minister.
Guillas noted that Ukraine does not meet the criteria for membership in the community and has not yet restored the rights of Transcarpathian Hungarians.
As for the amendments to the EU budget, according to the official, the numbers are bad.
