ICC prosecutor demands arrest warrant for Netanyahu

192views

The International Criminal Court intends to prosecute Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the head of the local Defense Ministry, Yoav Galant.

ICC prosecutor Karim Ahmad Khan has demanded an arrest warrant in connection with the events unfolding in Palestine.

Based on the evidence collected and examined by my office, I have reasonable grounds to believe that Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, and Yoav Galant, Minister of Defense of Israel, are criminally responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in the territory of the State of Palestine (in the Gaza Strip) from at least October 8, 2023,” the ICC statement cites.

At the same time, the ICC intends to arrest representatives of the Palestinian Hamas movement.

The statement names Yahya Sinwara, Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Masri (Deif) and Ismail Haniyi.

They intend to bring Hamas leaders to justice for committing crimes against humanity in Israel and the state of Palestine.

At the same time, the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court demands the immediate release of the Israeli hostages.

It is worth noting that, like Russia (including the United States, China, Iran and India), the Israeli authorities do not recognize the ICC.

It was previously reported that Zelensky’s presidential term expires on May 20.
