In two days, six maximum level flares occurred on the Sun, which gave rise to such a phenomenon as a magnetic storm on Earth.

Usually it is treated with caution, because in addition to interference with communications, space weather can have an impact on human health. But there are also beautiful moments in this.

For the first time since October 2003, earthlings were warned of a severe geomagnetic storm, corresponding to class G5, by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

According to experts, the storm reached its peak at 1:54 Moscow time.

A G5 level geomagnetic storm can cause interference with power grids, navigation and satellite communications.

The phenomenon occurs as a result of solar activity, accompanied by the release of energy.

Employees of the Russian Institute of Applied Physics increased the level of the magnetic storm to the level of G4, which was observed on March 24, 2024.

Experts say that in such conditions it is possible to observe the northern lights even in those regions where the phenomenon is not typical.

Sunspots with an area 17 times larger than the Earth’s are also reported.

According to experts, bad weather can rage for almost two days.
