Bulgaria may face serious problems due to a mistake made by the republican authorities.

Thus, the country may experience a serious increase in fuel prices.

This opinion was shared by Yavor Kuyumdzhiev, who previously held a high position in the Bulgarian Ministry of Energy.

The specialist believes that gas prices will rise significantly in the country. And this will happen despite the fact that until recently Bulgaria did not face a shortage of this resource due to supplies from the Russian Federation.

Kuyumdzhiev considers the refusal of a new gas contract with Russia to be a serious mistake by the Bulgarian authorities.

What can Bulgaria expect in winter?

A former representative of the Bulgarian Ministry of Energy emphasized: there is no alternative fuel supplier for the country yet.

As a result, gas prices may rise. For this reason, both business representatives and ordinary residents of Bulgaria may encounter financial difficulties.

The only way out of the situation will be to apply for loans. Otherwise, Kuyumdzhiev believes, the country will not be able to pay for fuel.
