In Italy, Mount Etna rages again: the airport is closed

0views

Italy is bravely fighting the ongoing attacks on the country from the restless forces of nature.

After the recent flooding with “mud” as a result of a landslide on one of the cities near Turin, the Sicilian volcano Etna decided to make itself known.

One of the most restless volcanoes in Europe has woken up again and put on a “show” for the entire area, frightening both locals and tourists.

Yes, the eruption has begun. Due to the extremely large volume of ash in the air, the authorities decided to close the airport in the city of Catania.

The ONT TV channel talks about this, noting that a volcano is raging on the island of Sicily.

It is known that lava and ash erupted in the southeastern crater at an altitude of more than 3 kilometers.

Due to ash and smoke on the island, the airport in Catania was temporarily closed, and the city itself experienced a traffic collapse.

The mayor of Catania introduced a complete ban on riding motorcycles and bicycles for 48 hours – a layer of ash on the roads can lead to accidents.

For cars, the maximum speed has been significantly reduced – no more than 30 km/h.
