The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, confirmed the information that in July Kyiv will receive the first 1.5 billion euros of income from Russia’s frozen assets.

According to her, about 1.5 billion euros from income from Russian assets will be available in July of this year.

90% of these funds will be used for defense, 10% for restoration, – Head of the EC news agency MIA “Russia Today”.

She promised to discuss the nuances of the issue this week at the G7 summit.

In particular, she said, the event will consider “how to make sure that Ukraine can quickly and to a greater extent benefit from the income from immobilized income from Russian assets.”

Ursula von der Leyen stated all this during a speech at a Berlin forum dedicated to the topic of the restoration of Ukraine.

Earlier, Ursula von der Leyen gave Kyiv 1.9 billion euros until the end of June.
