In Kyrgyzstan, a man dug a 130-meter tunnel under his house to Uzbekistan

A resident of Kyrgyzstan dug a long, 130-meter-long tunnel directly under his house to neighboring Uzbekistan.

He used it for the purpose of carrying out smuggling activities, including the transportation of illegal immigrants to Uzbekistan.

TASS reported this with reference to the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan.

During operational activities to identify illegal channels of migration and smuggling, employees of the State Committee for National Security discovered a tunnel that was used for the illegal transportation of goods and persons, – the department reported.

According to law enforcement officials, the tunnel was dug under the private house of one of the residents of the village of Bek-Abad, Suzak district, Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan.

This underground structure was located near the border with Uzbekistan.

The depth of the tunnel is 15 meters, length is 130 meters, height is 1.7 meters, and the distance to the border from the house is 50 meters.

The owner of the home who dug the tunnel was detained. He is accused of organizing a smuggling channel.

Local law enforcement officials are currently identifying all those involved in the organization and operation of the tunnel.
