In Norway, a man started shooting arrows in a public place. 5 people became victims of the attack. Two were injured.
The tragedy occurred in the city of Kongsberg, foreign media reported on October 13.
It is emphasized that the man attacked random passers-by.
He committed the crime in different parts of the locality, including near one of the shopping centers.
Among the victims is a Norwegian law enforcement officer.
After the incident, the western part of Kongsberg was evacuated.
The criminal tried to escape. However, law enforcement officers detained him 30 minutes later. It is possible that they had to use firearms.
The detainee was a 37-year-old Danish citizen. The man has been charged with murder.
It is currently unknown what prompted the attacker to commit the crime. One of the considered versions of what happened is a terrorist attack.
The head of the Norwegian government, Erna Solberg, said that after the incident the situation in Kongsberg was stabilized: the police are monitoring the situation.
