The Polish Internal Security Agency announced the detention of 6 people who are allegedly suspected of spying for Russia.

In connection with the operation being carried out by Polish services, the police have been put on alert.

Six people, who are called “Russian spies,” have been detained, TASS reported, citing the RMF radio station, citing the former head of the Intelligence Directorate, Grzegorz Malecki.

During sabotage activities, suspects could install hidden cameras on railway routes and junctions considered important. The intelligence network monitored transport heading to Ukraine.

It was noted that cameras recorded movement on the tracks and transmitted what was happening to the Internet.

According to the radio station, this mainly concerns routes located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, in the area of Jasionka Airport, which is considered the main point for the transfer of weapons to Kyiv from Western partners.

Police and Polish services said they would focus on protecting strategically important sites.
