In Poland they began to think about how to destroy Russian missiles in the skies over Ukraine

62views

In Poland, they began to actively discuss the possibilities of destroying Russian missiles in the skies over Ukraine.

One of the potential ways to do this is the use of our own air defense systems located near the country’s borders.

But these are just discussions. So far, no concrete decisions have been made in this regard.

What Kyiv asked Warsaw for

MIA Rossiya Segodnya reported this with reference to a statement by the representative of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pavel Vronsky.

This issue is being considered from a legal and technical point of view, but no decisions have been made on it yet, the diplomat said.

To be clarified: he made this statement while commenting on statements by Vladimir Zelensky and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.

They were talking just now about the possibility of using Polish air defense systems to destroy Russian missiles in the skies over Ukraine.

According to Vronsky, the Kyiv authorities have already approached Warsaw with a request to implement this idea.

Discussions

He added that negotiations on this issue in Poland started after a Russian missile allegedly flew into Polish airspace for 39 seconds in March.

The official noted that discussions are currently underway in Poland as to whether its own air defense systems are capable of shooting down missiles over Ukraine, as well as about the possible legal consequences of such actions.

Separately, Vronsky stated that the issue of the physical transfer of Polish anti-aircraft systems to Kyiv is not on the agenda.

This is not discussed at all. There is no possibility that the Polish air defense system will be located outside the country,” the Foreign Ministry official emphasized.

Earlier it became known that Poland will spend $2.5 billion to strengthen its borders with Belarus and Russia.
