In the Philippines, anti-Covid vaccinations face arrest

11views

It has become known that Filipino citizens may face arrest for evading vaccination against coronavirus infection.

Head of State Rodrigo Duterte addressed the population of the country with this statement. He threatens to send anyone who refuses vaccination to prison.

This reaction from Duterte could be caused by a massive outbreak of COVID-19 cases.

According to CNN, the epidemic has become the worst in Asia. More than 1.3 million cases of infection and 23 thousand deaths are known.

Local media quote a categorical statement from the head of state: “You choose: either you get vaccinated, or I will put you in prison.”

President Duterte said this after reports of low turnout at vaccination sites in the Philippine capital.

However, the reaction of the Philippine leader is contrary to the position of representatives of the health system, who, although they urge the population to get vaccinated, say that the procedure is purely voluntary.

But this attitude towards the country’s population’s own safety irritates the head of state.
