11views

The United States tested the newest aircraft carrier Gerald Ford in the Atlantic Ocean, detonating a powerful underwater bomb near it.

The bomb explosion triggered an earthquake with a magnitude of almost 4 points.

The controlled explosion took place last Friday, June 18.

This was reported on the aircraft carrier’s Twitter account.

An underwater bomb with a yield of 18 tons of TNT was detonated off the coast of Florida.

As a result, seismic stations recorded vibrations of magnitude 3.9.

It should be noted that the test program provides for 2 more explosions of similar power – in the air and on the surface of the ocean.
