Incident in Doha: the German President waited on the plane for half an hour for the Emir of Qatar
An incident happened to the German President in Doha, where he flew to meet with the Emir of Qatar.
According to the Bild newspaper, Frank-Walter Steinmeier stood at the top of the plane for half an hour, waiting for the ruler of this Arab state to appear.
Referring to this publication, TASS agency that the German politician arrived in Doha on the morning of November 29.
The purpose of the visit is negotiations with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The Emir was obviously not ready to receive Steinmeier after landing, Bild suggests.
The newspaper learned that Steinmeier spent the entire half hour of waiting on the ramp “with a dissatisfied face and arms folded on his chest.”
According to her, in response to a request from the head of the protocol service, the guests from Germany were informed that the president “had to drink tea at the airport to kill time.”
However, he refused to drink tea, preferring to wait for the sheikh at the top of the ladder in 30-degree heat, the publication reports.
