The Indian authorities announced victory over the coronavirus infection SARS-CoV-2.
The whole world remembers the difficulties the country faced this spring, when a new wave of the epidemic arrived. This time the statement is based on data on the incidence and the discovery of a drug that defeats the virus.
It is currently known that in the state of Uttar Pradesh, with a population of 200 million, doctors have managed to cure more than 98% of patients with COVID-19.
End of pandemics?
In an official statement, the Indian authorities said that 33 districts of the region have been completely “cleared” of coronavirus.
Among 200 million people, 194 patients have been officially diagnosed with COVID-19.
As of September 20, only 11 new cases of the disease had been identified in the country.
At the same time, no more than 5.8% of the population has been vaccinated in India.
Ivermectin
According to the Times of India, after the start of mass use of the drug ivermectin, the number of recovered patients exceeded 98.5%.
The drug has already been called the strongest antiviral agent. It is used to treat more than 20 infections.
First tests
The medicine first appeared on the Internet this spring. Since then, 44 experiments and more than 30 studies have been conducted.
Since spring, the drug has been recommended to local doctors who come into contact with COVID patients. Since August, Indian doctors have been officially recommended to take the drug at a dosage of 12 mg.
What WHO says
Representatives of the organization do not share the optimism of their Indian colleagues.
It is believed that the positive effect of ivermectin on those infected with coronavirus has not been scientifically proven, and its prescription to patients is dictated by the instructions of the authorities.
