It has become known that this year India may overtake China in terms of population.
This is evidenced by data obtained by an organization called World Population Review (dealing with population census and demographic issues).
The company estimates that there are currently 1,422,708,244 people living in India and 1,425,831,221 in China.
In terms of population growth in individual countries, India is projected to surpass China as the world’s most populous country sometime in 2023. – materials of the research of MIA “Russia Today”.
This year, experts believe, the annual growth rate in the Celestial Empire will range from -0.1% to -03%, that is, the population will decline.
But in India, on the contrary, an increase in the number of inhabitants is predicted – ranging from 0.69% to 0.92%.
It is noted that this year the number of Indian residents may reach 1.428 billion people.
In China, a similar level is expected at around 1.425 billion inhabitants.
Earlier, the UN reported that the number of people living on planet Earth has already reached 8 billion.
