Israel strikes Iranian consulate in Syria: 7 officers killed

The Israeli military attacked the Iranian consulate in Damascus (Syria).

The attack killed seven officers of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Among the military advisers killed, the IRGC said, were generals Mohammad Reza Zahedi and Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi.

The aircraft of the deceitful Zionist regime committed a new crime and launched a missile attack on the building of the consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus, – statement from the IRGC Public Relations Department, TASS agency.

As a result of this strike, the above-mentioned generals and 5 “officers accompanying them” “accepted martyrdom,” the report specifies.

The following are the names of all five victims: Hossein Eman Ellahi, Mahdi Jalati, Mohsen Sedakat, Ali Agha Babayi and Ali Salehi Ruzbahani.

Before this statement, the Iranian ambassador to Syria said that the number of deaths could be from 5 to 7 people.

Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Miqdad visited the consulate that survived the attack and condemned the “heinous terrorist attack by Israel.”

And Iranian Foreign Ministry official Nasser Kanani said that Tehran will still decide how it will punish the aggressor.

There has been no official comment in Israel regarding the strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
