This was reported by the press service of the Israeli government.

What Netanyahu promised

The meeting began with a minute of silence in memory of the victims.

The Israeli Prime Minister noted in his speech that he personally spoke with soldiers on the front line.

Netanyahu stressed that Israeli troops are ready to defeat the “bloodthirsty monsters” that have risen against Israel to destroy it.

Hamas thought we would break, but we will destroy Hamassaid the head of the Israeli government.

Exacerbation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict

On October 7, after an unprecedented rocket attack from the Gaza Strip, Hamas fighters penetrated into the southern border areas of Israel, declaring Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.

Israel responded by launching Operation Iron Swords against Hamas. Within a few days, the Israeli Defense Forces took control of all populated areas near the border with the Gaza Strip and began carrying out airstrikes on it.

Israel also began a complete blockade of Gaza, suspending the supply of electricity, fuel, water, food, and medicine.

The death toll in Israel has exceeded a thousand, in Gaza – 2,000. About 150 Israelis are being held captive by Hamas.

On October 11, Netanyahu announced the creation of an emergency government. One of the opposition leaders, the head of the centrist State Camp bloc Benny Gantz, joined the new government. On October 12, the creation of an emergency government was approved by parliament.

Gantz said that the doors of the new government are open to other opposition parties, but the leader of the Yesh Atid party, the leader of the parliamentary opposition, Yair Lapid, who previously declared his readiness to forget about differences and enter a government of national unity, has not yet joined it.
