It became known how soon the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to use the American Patriot air defense system

The Ukrainian military will be able to use the Patriot air defense systems promised by Washington no earlier than next spring, American journalists from Newsweek are confident of this.

The reasons lie not so much in logistics problems, but in the skills of Ukrainian soldiers. There is one more important circumstance.

Journalists of the publication refer to the opinion of retired American general Mark Hertling.

The officer is confident that the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ anti-aircraft missile systems will not soon be able to be used for their intended purpose.
First of all, the retired general recalls the months of training of Ukrainian military personnel who will serve and work with American complexes.

Secondly, Hertling notes, even after training personnel, it will not be possible to physically protect the entire territory of Ukraine.

The reason is that American air defense systems of this system do not move in the combat zone. Patriot air defense systems can be installed to protect a strategically important facility or city.

If someone believes that this complex will be scattered along the 805-kilometer border between Ukraine and Russia, then he simply does not know how this air defense system works, MIA quotes an excerpt from the publication.

In addition, analysts recall the limited number of missiles for American “patriots”, as well as their cost.

These circumstances, according to experts, destroy hopes that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will take advantage of American assistance before next spring.

Let us recall that Washington promised to supply Kyiv with modern air defense systems, for which the American Patriot was included in the aid package to Ukraine. At the same time, the possibility of sending American payments to the territory of Ukraine is excluded. The US military promises to train Ukrainian soldiers in a few months.
