Denmark will transfer the first batch of American F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine this summer.

This is stated in a statement posted on the website of the Danish Ministry of Defense.

When will Denmark transfer the F-16 to Ukraine?

According to the head of the Danish Ministry of Defense, Troels Lund Poulsen, if preparations go according to plan, the first aircraft will be transferred to Ukraine this summer.

The statement notes that the final timing of the transfer of fighters will depend on when Ukrainian pilots are fully trained.

The department emphasized that the coalition led by Denmark, the United States and the Netherlands, created to support Kyiv in the air force, is making every effort to provide the necessary conditions.

In January, it became known that Denmark’s transfer of F-16s to Ukraine was delayed by about six months.

It was originally planned that Kyiv would receive fighters around the new year.

The Danish Ministry of Defense explained the delay by Kyiv’s unpreparedness to use the aircraft.

Previously, Sweden could not replenish its weapons reserves after supplies to Ukraine.
