By the beginning of this fall, the US military mission in Afghanistan should end.
United States troops will leave the territory of the Islamic Republic by August 31, 2021.
Currently, Washington is meeting the deadlines set for the withdrawal of its military.
US President Joe Biden stated this at a briefing, the White House press service.
When I announced the withdrawal of our troops in April, I said that we would withdraw them by September. And we are on track to achieve this goal. Our military mission in Afghanistan will end on August 31,” the American leader said.
He added that the process is proceeding safely and according to plan. The priority is the safety of troops leaving Afghanistan.
“Thanks to the way we were able to organize the withdrawal of our troops, neither we nor others (US allies – Ed.) had any losses,” Biden noted.
He added that the United States will continue to supply and finance Afghanistan’s military and security services, provide humanitarian aid, and provide civilian assistance, but the future of the country will be determined only by its people.
