It has become known who has reached the final round of the fight for the post of leader of the Conservative Party of Great Britain and prime minister of the country.

Foreign Minister Liz Truss and ex-Treasury Minister Rishi Sunak will compete for the prime minister’s seat.

This was announced on July 20 following the results of the 5th round of internal party voting by the head of the Tory party steering committee, Graham Brady.

How they voted

Deputy Minister of Trade Penny Mordaunt received 105 votes in the 5th round and dropped out of the race.

Sunak managed to extend his lead from 118 to 137 votes. 113 faction colleagues voted for Truss.

In the final, the winner will be chosen by all members of the Tory party, of which there are almost 200,000.

Voting will be carried out by mail, the results are scheduled to be announced on September 5.
